Colorado Mesa University believes that a strong versatile economy relies on an educated workforce. The Mesa County Partner Scholarship assists major Mesa County employers in supporting their full time employees, age 24 or older, to further their education at CMU or CMU Tech. 

  • Awarded to employees of contracted Mesa County Partners (200 or more employees):
    • Community Hospital
    • Reynolds Polymer
    • Hilltop Community Resources
    • Mesa County Valley School District 51
    • Mind Springs Health – Grand Junction
    • Family Health West
    • City of Grand Junction
    • Valor Tactical Innovation LLC
    • Alsco Uniforms
  • This scholarship may be stacked on top of any other merit or transfer scholarships offered by Colorado Mesa University.
  • Scholarship is only awarded during Fall and Spring semesters.

Scholarship amounts are by semester.

 Eligibility Criteria

  • Be 24 years old or older
  • Provide proof of full-time employment with a Contracted Mesa County Partner Employer (e.g. paystub, letter of employment from HR) prior to the beginning of each academic year 
  • Non-degree seeking students are not eligible.

Renewal Criteria

All criteria must be met to be eligible:

  • Maintain cumulative Colorado Mesa University GPA of 3.00 or higher.
  • Provide updated or continued proof of full-time employment with a Contracted Mesa County Partner Employer (e.g. paystub, letter of employment from HR) prior to the beginning of each academic year 
  • Available until the student earns the allotted credit hours towards a completed degree:
    • Graduate degree programs - 36 credit hours
    • Bachelor's degree programs - 120 credit hours
    • Associate degree programs - 60 credit hours
    • Certificate programs - the published length of credit hours needed to complete 
    • The Total credit hour allowance includes any transfer credits.
