Choose your loan option and complete the requirements
There are several options available for student loans. If you have accepted a financial aid award offer containing student or parent loans, or if you decide to borrow a private loan, you must follow the instructions below before your loan can be disbursed into your account.
If you have accepted a subsidized or unsubsidized federal student loan from your award offer, you must complete the following:

Loan Agreement: Subsidized/Unsubsidized Master Promissory Note (MPN)
Use your FSA ID to complete your MPN on www.studentloans.gov .

Complete Entrance Counseling
If you have not previously accepted a federal loan you are required to complete entrance loan counseling so you may understand the responsibilities associated with your student loan.
Parent PLUS Loans
If you are a parent of a dependent undergraduate student, a Federal Direct PLUS loan can help pay for your student's education expenses not covered by other financial aid.
You must submit an application to www.studentaid.gov to start the Direct PLUS Loan process.

Complete the Parent PLUS Loan Application
The borrowing parent will log in with their FSA ID. A credit check will be completed within the application. The parent will specify the loan amount, award year, refund preferences and more.

Complete a Parent Loan Agreement / Master Promissory Note (MPN)
Use the borrowing parent's FSA ID to complete a MPN on www.studentloans.gov
Graduate/Professional Student PLUS Loans
If you are a graduate or professional student, a Federal Direct PLUS loan can help pay for your education expenses not covered by other financial aid.
You must submit an application to www.studentaid.gov to start the Direct PLUS Loan process.

Complete the Graduate/Professional PLUS Loan Application
Log in with your FSA ID. A credit check will be completed within the application. The parent will specify the loan amount, load period, and more.

Complete a Graduate Loan Agreement / Master Promissory Note (MPN)
Use your FSA ID to complete a MPN on www.studentloans.gov
Private (Alternative) Loans
Available for students who are not eligible for federal loans or for those who need assistance beyond their federal financial eligibility
