The Colorado Mesa University Master of Business Administration degree is a challenging program designed to prepare graduates for the ever-changing business world. The degree is awarded after successful completion of 36 semester hours of rigorous study and a business-related practicum project.
The program is designed to provide a broad background in business while allowing students to focus on various aspects of their study or areas specific to their career goals and business aspirations.
Students will acquire knowledge of management operations; an appreciation of the interrelationships involved in business; an understanding of the economic, political and social environment in which businesses function; accounting and financial practices; and leadership behavioral skills that are essential in a manager's role in the implementation of business decisions.
The MBA program provides an atmosphere conducive to the development of each student's ability to think in a creative manner and to effectively problem solve. The program makes extensive use of lectures, seminars, group projects, case studies and independent research.

The program is designed to provide the student with a broad background in business while allowing the student to focus on a specified area of study, if desired.
Academic Requirements for Master of Business Administration in Business AdministrationThe MBA degree is one of the most desirable graduate degrees within the business environment and data supports this return on investment when the initial cost for acquiring the degree is reasonable. The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) data continues to support an increase in education correlates to increased income. Graduates have successful careers regionally and nationally with accounting firms, hospitals, ski resorts, manufacturing companies, universities and various other large and small businesses.
Since 1997, more than 200 graduates have successfully completed their MBA degree at CMU. Our MBA alumni chapter is active with helping future and current students network throughout the world.
3+2 Program
CMU's unique 3+2 program is a unique course layout that allows a student to earn their bachelor's and master's degree in five years. Students in one of three bachelor programs may qualify to pursue the MBA through the 3+2 program: Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance or the Bachelor of Science in Construction Management.
Each track has three basic components: a 24 hour core, a 6 hour research component and 6 hours of additional master's level coursework consistent with a chosen track. Electives include such courses as advanced project management, entrepreneurship, human resource management, management information systems and various special topics courses. Students wanting to pursue this opportunity must apply specifically to the 3+2 program.
