On September 27, 2024, Colorado Mesa University will host the annual Great West Beer Fest, an event that directly supports over 120 student clubs and organizations on campus. Community members ages 21 and older are welcome to attend.
For many students at CMU, joining a club is a way to connect, build friendships and grow professionally. More than 2,000 students are involved in CMU clubs, and this event eases the financial challenges clubs may face, with 100% of the profits going to CMU’s student clubs.
“Colorado Mesa University continues to grow and work diligently to make campus a place where students belong and become a part of the Mavily,” said Director of Student Life Trey Downey. “Supporting student clubs in their passions and hobbies is a great avenue for creating that belonging. Many Mavs do not come from the area, so it's difficult for them to build a network of donors. Student Life is working to support these groups by offering this event to the larger community to have fun, drink some beer, and listen to music — all while supporting students.”
The annual Great West Beer Fest brings the community together in a lively setting on CMU’s Plaza and Alumni Field. Attendees can partake in beer tasting, enjoy food from food trucks, listen to music and participate in various activities. The support the event provides for CMU’s clubs helps ensure the university remains a thriving environment for students to explore their interests.
“The annual Great West Beer Fest is a great opportunity for community members to make a real impact for our student clubs on campus. All profits made from this event go back to our student club leaders so they can be successful,” said Student Life Administrative Assistant Jacob Bopp.
