Michael Mankoff, ‘12

According to Michael Mankoff, he has the luxury of working in one of the best cities (Grand Junction) in the best state (Colorado) for a national company — all from the comfort of his home. A 2012 graduate, Mankoff double majored in business administration in both management and marketing. In 2016, he earned his MBA from the University of Colorado with focuses in marketing and finance.

Today, Mankoff works remotely for RealPage, Inc., a leading technology company in data-analytics and software solutions for multi-family and commercial real estate. Approximately half of the more than 5,000 RealPage employees work out of the Dallas, Texas, corporate headquarters, while the other half work in satellite offices across the globe or remotely like Mankoff.

“It is a privilege to work for a company that acknowledges and respects that top talent that can be found anywhere and does not limit its employment pool to specific geographical locations,” Mankoff said. “It’s embedded into the company’s culture.”

Mankoff’s education and time spent at CMU laid the foundation for the skills and tools he leverages every day. As the director of strategy accounts for RealPage’s Consumer Solutions business division, he is consistently interacting with top-level executives of some of the nation’s largest real estate firms. Locally, his experiences and business acumen are utilized in his volunteer efforts at CMU where he has served on the CMU Alumni Association Board of Directors for the past three years. He is currently the acting treasurer for the executive board.

Webinars and airport access have helped Mankoff, his wife, Maggie (CMU alumna ’13 & ’18), and their 8-month-old son, Miles, make their decision to live in Grand Junction an easy one. This young alumnus is a perfect example of how it is possible to work remotely for a company that is at the forefront of its industry, and remain living in the Grand Valley to enjoy all western Colorado has to offer. •
