Academic Advising
All engineering students pursuing the CU Boulder partnership program are assigned an academic advisor which they meet with at least once per semester. Academic advisors can assist with degree plans, navigating academic policies, and connections with student support services.

Academic Coaching with the CMU-CU Boulder Engineering Partnership offers one-on-one support for engineering students, focusing on developing personal and academic skills. Sessions help students build self-awareness, set personal goals, and create action plans for success. Academic Coaching can guide students in areas like motivation, time management, and effective study strategies, ultimately fostering confidence and personal growth. About Mary Spirio:
Mary has dedicated her career to supporting student success in higher education by providing individualized services tailored to each student's skill set. She holds a master’s degree in Adult Education for Social Change, where she used motivational interviewing to understand students’ perspectives and guide them toward relevant and meaningful outcomes. In 2015, Mary served as an Academic Success Coach at CMU and later supported underrepresented students in the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences at CU Boulder. Currently, she works part-time for the CMU-CU Boulder Engineering Partnership program to further assist students.
