Educational Access Services administers accommodated exams to students enrolled with EAS who have requested accommodations via AIM. Students should always stay in communication with professors regarding exam date needs.

Exam Requests

Students must submit exam requests through their AIM portal under Alternative Testing a MINIMUM of 2 business days before the exam date.

Exam Date Request Submitted
Monday By Thursday at 3pm
Tuesday By Friday at 3pm
Wednesday By Monday at 3pm
Thursday By Tuesday at 3pm
Friday By Wednesday at 3pm

Exams must be started and completed between the hours of 8am and 5pm, Monday through Friday. Students needing to test outside of this window should contact their professor to discuss appropriate arrangements for accommodated testing.

Late Exam Requests

EAS strives to process every late request, but in some cases that will not be possible and students will need to take exams in the classroom without accommodations.

Students will be prompted for a late exam reason in AIM when submitting an exam request within the 2 day window before an exam.

Students with chronic late exam requests will be given the opportunity to meet with EAS staff for support.

When are professor approvals required before scheduling testing in EAS?
  • Scheduling a make up exam due to absence from the regular test time.
  • Taking a test or quiz before the class period without overlapping class time. Ex. Class is scheduled for 5pm and requesting to take exam in EAS during business hours.
  • Taking an exam any time after the scheduled exam.

The following exam requests do not require professor approval, but should be communicated to professor:

  • Scheduling conflicts such as overlapping extended time with another class.
  • Scheduling a test or quiz before the start of class due to conflicts with another class, with the test end time overlapping the class period.
