Applicant Portal
Check out your applicant portal to start on your next steps. Log in with the email address and password you used to apply for admission.
1. Prepare for Registration
Returning students do not need to submit the New Student Enrollment Form.-
Explore the program sheet for your major
We encourage you to check out your program sheet to see the classes you will take to earn your degree.

Submit your New Student Enrollment Form (First-time & transfer only)
First-time and transfer students are required to submit a New Student Enrollment form in their applicant portal. Returning students do not need to submit this form. The form will be available for Spring 2025 in mid-October. It will be available for Fall 2025 on February 15.

Complete class placement testing (if applicable)

Request updated official transcripts and AP/IB scores
Request for updated official transcripts to be sent from the issuing institution to CMU. Request for AP or IB scores to be sent from the respective testing organization to CMU.

Review your DegreeWorks report
Transfer credits are posted in the DegreeWorks app on the applications page in MAVzone.

Address any registration holds
Check to see if you have any registration holds.
2. Class Registration
Check out your student type to register for classes.-
First-Time Adult Students
Submit your New Student Enrollment Form. Then, you can choose to have your schedule built by an academic advisor or you may self-register when your registration window opens.

Transfer Students
See registration windows based on class standing to determine when you may self-register or schedule an advising appointment. You have the option to have your schedule built by an academic advisor. Make sure to address any registration holds before your registration window opens.

3. Finalize Enrollment

Confirm your tuition classification status
This is listed on your acceptance letter. If it’s not what you expected, contact the Tuition Classification Officer in the Admissions Office at [email protected].

Authorize the College Opportunity Fund (and apply if needed)
If you are classified as an in-state student (Colorado resident), this will reduce your direct tuition cost. After you apply, you must authorize COF on the 'My Account' page in MAVzone.

Verify your Social Security Number
Review and your Social Security Number on the 'My Account' page in MAVzone.

Submit your immunization records
Colorado State law requires all college students to show proof of vaccinations.

Submit proof of Selective Service
Submit your proof of registration if requested.

Address other registration holds
Make sure you identify and address your registration holds. Click for details of common holds.
4. Student Finances
Your bill will be viewable in the ePay app in MAVzone.-

Complete or update the FAFSA or CASFA
The Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) determines a student's eligibility for financial aid such as grants and loans and is the first step to be considered for work study. The CASFA is available for undocumented/DACA Colorado ASSET students.

Apply for scholarships
CMU Merit Scholarships are automatically offered based on the application for admission. CMU also offers a yearly scholarship application in MAVzone. The priority due date is February 10 for the following academic year. The deadline for the Reisher Scholarship is May 3 for transfer students.

Review and accept your financial aid award offer
Your offer will be available after you have applied for financial aid and provided any additional documentation if requested.

Review the Financial Responsibility Agreement
Carefully review and accept the agreement.

View and manage your bill
The ePay app is where you can view your semester bill. Semester bills are due at the beginning of the semester by being paid in full or by enrolling in a free semester payment plan. You can set up electronic refunds and give a parent or supporter access to ePay for billing purposes.
5. Housing and Campus Arrival
CMU requires that all students admitted as first-year freshmen (defined as any student who graduated from high school within one year of enrollment term) live in a residence hall for four semesters, subject to availability of space, unless they request and are granted an exemption prior to fulfilling the four-semester requirement.

Apply for housing
The housing application opens on November 1 for the following spring and fall. Submit your housing contract, application and $200 prepayment.
