Green Zone training is intended for staff and faculty to understand the struggles that many veterans face when they are back in civilian life. It covers different types of trauma, from combat, to sexual assault victims, who suffer from these injuries due to their experience in service.
Green Zone provides these students “safe” places where they can talk to someone (who has had the training) with an empathetic ear and point them in the direction to proper resources.
When you see the Green Zone Emblem on a staff or faculty door/door frame, know that the individual who has it posted, proudly represents someone who volunteered to be trained to assist you with any help or resources you may need as a veteran student at CMU.
