Academic Support Instruction

What is it?

Academic support through embedding tutors in challenging essential learning courses. The tutors then conduct review sessions once a week in small groups. Tutors are also available in the TLC and Writing Centers.

How it Works:

  • The tutors are students that have previously taken or tutored the courses they are placed in.
  • The tutors sit in on the class and assist the instructor when needed.
  • The tutor will set up group/review sessions for the students in the class to attend during various times of the week.
    • These sessions include reviews of concepts and skill building.
  • Tutors will conduct small group sessions and are also available to tutor in the TLC and Writing Center.
