Concurrent students taking a course at one of the college campuses and needing additional accommodations may request these through Educational Access Services (EAS).
Students will need a copy of their IEP or 504 plan (or other medical documentation of need) to submit as part of the intake process.
All accommodations will be communicated to faculty through the EAS process, initiated by the student and supported by the EAS office.
CMU Tech Student Services, in collaboration with high school counselors, are available to provide advising assistance to concurrent students choosing courses. Help is available during office hours (Monday-Friday, 8-5, year round). Students may also set an appointment here.
Parents are welcome partners in all advising sessions, however students should be present whenever these discussions are being had.
Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
The privacy of all students attending a post-secondary institution (such as Colorado Mesa University or Western Colorado Community College) are protected by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Post-secondary rules differ from secondary rules in that the privacy rights belong to the student only. This means that CMU and CMU Tech faculty and staff may be limited in the amount of information that they may share with parents or guardians without the student present. Students can submit a Student Authorized Release of Information by logging into MAVzone and clicking on "My Account." Next, select "Student" and click on the "Student Authorized Release of Information" link. Fill out the information for the individual you would like to give permission and save your changes.
For more information about FERPA, please visit the Registrar's Office page.
