Develop skills to care for patients in their home, at the scene of an accident and during transport in an ambulance. Learn to assess the patient's condition, manage respiratory and cardiac problems and take care of trauma injuries. Must be 18+ to enter this program.
- Get hands-on practice at state-of-the-art live burn facilities.
- Experience operations such as house fires, car fires and others.
- Prepare to take the State Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control Firefighter I exam.
- Students have the opportunity to obtain EPA certification
- Prepare to work with older adults in a wide variety of settings including senior centers, adult day centers, home care, retirement communities, assisted living and more.
- This program focuses on a multi-disciplinary perspective on aging, providing students with a career that has diverse employment opportunities.
- Prepare to work in different types of doctor's offices (family practice, pediatrics, orthopedics, neurology, dermatology, etc).
- Train in both administrative (scheduling, answering phones, completing insurance forms, assigning CPT and ICD-10 codes) and clinical (vital signs, assisting providers, setting up for procedures, performing electrocardiograms, injections and drawing blood).
- There are many local job opportunities for MOAs and this certification is a great stepping stone for other health science programs.
Learn basic nursing skills, personal care skills, care of cognitively impaired clients, infection control and more. Gain a professional understanding of healthcare and use of medical terms. Obtain CPR certification and earn Nurse Aide certification.
This is a two (2) semester track: One semester of CNA and one semester of EMR.
