CMU Tech is a comprehensive Technical and Workforce Development college serving the higher education needs of the region in association with Colorado Mesa University. The Community Education Center is dedicated to providing regional businesses with the training they need.

CMU Tech is geographically positioned to be the western slope provider of safety/compliance training, supervisory training, and any other employee/employer training needed. We have the flexibility to meet your dates and location requirements.

Register for Business Safety, Compliance and Leadership Classes

OSHA 10, General Industry and Construction

This 10-hr course will introduce participants to OSHA policies, procedures, standards and general industry safety and health principles. Upon successful completion of this course participants will receive an OSHA 10-hr General Industry card.

OSHA 30, General Industry and Construction

The 30-hr course is a comprehensive safety program designed for safety coordinators, management, team leads and personnel who are involved in general industry. Upon successful completion of this course participants will receive an OSHA 30-hr General Industry card.

8-hr HAZWOPER Refresher

This course is for employees trained in hazardous waste operations or who are exposed or potentially exposed to hazardous substances or health hazards and are required to attend a yearly refresher course as mandated by OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120. Verification of completion of 24-hr or 40-hr class required. Upon successful completion of this course, participants will receive an HAZWOPER Refresher card.

40-hr HAZWOPER (29 CFR 1910.120 (q))

This course is specifically designed for employees who work with hazardous materials or respond to hazardous spills in the work location. Upon successful completion of this course, participants will receive a 40-hr HAZWOPER card.

Confined Space Awareness

In this 4-hr course, attendees will learn proper Confined Space Entry techniques. Applicable OSHA standards (1910.146 and 1926, Subpart C) will be covered thoroughly. Topics include confined spaces, permit-required confined spaces, PPE, physical and atmospheric hazards, air monitoring, and permits. Upon successful completion of this course, participants will receive a Confined Space Entry Competent Person card.

First Aid/CPR/AED/BBP (Blood Borne Pathogens)

Prepare your staff with the knowledge and skills necessary to prevent, recognize and provide basic care for injuries and sudden illnesses until advanced medical personnel arrive and take over. This course covers first aid, adult CPR, AED (automated external defibrillator) and BBP (Blood borne Pathogens Training: Preventing Disease Transmission) training. This portion meets OSHA's revised Blood borne Pathogens Standard and teaches participants how blood borne pathogens are spread, how to prevent exposures and what to do if exposed to infectious materials.
