The CMU 437CO Art Gallery is pleased to announce our newest show: Space Between

Collin Parson, Charles Parson

A black line divides the gallery in two.  On one side is the work of Collin Parson; on the other, his father, Charles Parson.  Both literal and symbolic, the line separates distinct bodies of work while inviting viewers to find unexpected connections.

Collin's Interference series uses layered acrylic, light, and moire patterns that shift as viewers move, making perception part of the artwork.  Across the line, Charles's sculptures and drawings explore similar ideas through steel, acrylic, and hand-drawn marks.  Grounded in material, sculpture, and landscape, his work offers a physical counterpoint to Collin's optical installations.

Both Artists rely on geometry, industrial materials, and precise fabrication.  Acrylic connects their practices: Charles explores it's expressive possibilities through mark-making; Collin uses it for light, color, and visual interference.

Space Between reflects the gallery's dividing line and the relationship between two generations of artists, inviting viewers to slow down and discover a conversation decades in the making.
