Colorado Mesa University announces a partnership with Canvas Credit Union, marking a pivotal investment in students' financial literacy
Colorado Mesa University is proud to announce an exciting new partnership with Colorado's third largest credit union, Canvas Credit Union. This collaboration aims to foster deeper connections with students, faculty, staff, alumni and community on the Western Slope while providing resources to support financial literacy, local initiatives and shared opportunities for growth.
“Colorado Mesa University is a values-driven university, and we are thrilled to partner with an institution in higher education that is taking a unique approach to fulfilling their mission,” said Chad Shane, CEO of Canvas Credit Union. “We have worked alongside Grand Junction for years, and it is truly an honor to be able to contribute to their efforts to increase educational attainment throughout western Colorado.”
This partnership is designed to empower students with a strong financial foundation and to support the university programs that bring the community together. The first milestone of the partnership will be during the CMU basketball doubleheader on February 6th.
“Our goal as a Human Scale University is to be a model of the world we want to create; we are passionate about another partnership that helps us serve and support our students,” said Robin Brown, Vice President of Development at CMU. “Canvas’ partnership unlocks so many tools for us to provide more extracurricular activities for students, as well as provide them with financial confidence that they take with them upon graduation.”
Colorado Mesa University looks forward to collaborating with Canvas Credit Union to develop tailored financial education programs and initiatives that address the unique needs of students and the surrounding community.
Colorado Mesa University and Canvas will be making an on-campus announcement in the University Center at 4:30 pm, as well as during the halftime of the Women's basketball game at 5:30 versus MSU Denver. To join the celebration, you can purchase tickets today.
