CMU Secures Experienced Chief Financial Officer

After conducting a national search for a new Vice President of Finance & Administration/Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Colorado Mesa University announced today that Michelle Quinn (pictured above) will fill the role as part of the CMU leadership team beginning July 1, 2022. In addition to experience in the private sector, Quinn also has 30 years of experience in Colorado higher education fiscal policy serving in various leadership positions including chief financial officer at the University of Northern Colorado.

“Michelle is incredibly bright and brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience that will secure and sustain the university’s strong financial position while supporting our strategic goals,” said CMU President John Marshall. “In addition to overseeing the institution's overall financial health and fiscal stability, the CFO will play an integral role around tuition affordability and the continuation of offering in-demand programs.”

At the University of Northern Colorado, Quinn was responsible for managing the university’s finance, procurement, human resources, campus police, risk management, facilities, information technology and data management, operation of the University Center and enrollment management.

“I’m honored to be joining a university that is driving positive change for students and for the community,” said Quinn. “It’s an exciting time to be a Maverick and I can’t wait to contribute my financial expertise, leadership experience and enthusiasm to President Marshall’s team.”

Quinn succeeds Laura Glatt, who joined the Mavily in 2016, and leaves big shoes to fill.

“Laura Glatt has provided sound, steady leadership as CFO over the past six years at CMU and we knew we needed a well-respected, experienced CFO to step in behind her,” said Marshall. “Michelle Quinn fits the bill.”
