Christopher L. West has always had a vision for himself.
The West family moved to the Grand Valley from Racine, Wisconsin, when West was just 1 year old. Originally he enrolled at Mesa to major in marketing and business, but with guidance from professors Jim Buckley, Dave Rogers and Betty McMechen, West was inspired to turn his sights on a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
“It (Mesa) prepared me to graduate from one of the best accounting programs in the state, if not the country,” said West.
Recently promoted to chief executive officer at Dalby, Wendland & Co., P.C. in Grand Junction, West uses his experience in fiscal management, administration and leadership in his new position.
West is also the firm’s director of vision, making him instrumental in directing and formulating a vision plan for the company’s future. West joined Dalby, Wendland & Co. in 1996 and became a principal in the firm in 2009.
As CEO, West utilizes his decades of experience, strategic skills and visionary talents to help grow the firm, engage and develop its staff, and promote unrivaled service to clients.
West is also a member of the Grand Junction Rotary Club, and is a past board member of Habitat for Humanity and Western Colorado Community Foundation.
“The professors and Colorado Mesa University in general are responsible for my being successful in my life and in my relationships.”
Sharing and contributing to his success is his family: wife, Alisa, Finely, 8, and Brylie, 6. West loves golfing and enjoys hiking and playing in the great outdoors with his family. He and Alisa have hiked all of Colorado’s fourteeners as well as Africa’s 19,341 feet high Mount Kilimanjaro.
