National performers bring musical talent to the CMU outdoor plaza
The Southwest Navy Band is among the nation's premier popular music groups. The Destroyers provide a high energy show incorporating genres that reflect a number of different performance missions and a diversity of musical expression.
The group covers popular genres from Latin and country to pop and classic rock-and-roll. When the talent of The Destroyers is combined with the outdoor venue at CMU, the musical experience is one not to miss.
"A number of CMU and WCCC student veterans served in the Navy," said CMU President Tim Foster. "Their hard work to bring this talented national act to campus helps showcase CMU as a venue and demonstrates what student veterans do to enhance campus life."
CMU encourages the community, veterans service organizations and people of all ages to attend and enjoy the musical talents of America's Navy.
"Colorado Mesa University celebrates the contributions of our more than 400 CMU and WCCC student veterans who enrich the campus community," said CMU Veteran's Benefits and Services Coordinator, Amanda Herron. "This concert is a chance for student veterans to invite the community to enjoy a concert that appeals to all people — veterans or not."
The concert will take place on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 as part of the Student Veteran Services' role in hosting of the Navy throughout the week.
There is no charge to attend. Music lovers are encouraged to arrive early for the concert kickoff at 6pm.
