CMU Hosts 15th Annual Student Showcase

771 Students Presented 370 Projects

On Friday, April 26, Colorado Mesa University hosted the 15th annual Student Showcase— an extensive collection of student discoveries, artistic demonstration and innovative curiosity. A day packed with CMU and CMU Tech student presentations, this highly anticipated annual event exemplified CMU's commitment to curiosity by highlighting students’ explorations and successes. For students, the showcase is a pinnacle demonstration of excellence and a rewarding moment within their education career.

Keynote speaker Nicole Kain, Board President of the Foundation for Cultural Exchange, opened the floor to discuss the different avenues available to students and community members who wish to work for the betterment of their communities, locally and globally.

Presentations, posters, performances, demonstrations and exhibits were scattered all across campus. This year, 771 students introduced 370 presentations featuring an array of engaging topics, from artistic portfolios to scientific breakthroughs, historical narratives to mathematical discoveries, and much more.

Attendees regrouped in the Meyer Ballroom to wrap up the evening and celebrate the breadth of student accomplishments. Celebrations served as an exclusive networking opportunity for businesses and students wishing to carry on the conversations held throughout the day.

The showcase aimed to build on classroom experiences while providing a venue where students can share their work with faculty, student peers and community members. Every year, CMU unlocks success stories stemming from every corner of campus. In addition, many projects turned into published work. The event also fostered open dialogue between 700+ students, future employers and community members. Through public presentation and performance skills, students become well-equipped to continue pursuing innovation and curiosity later in their education and careers.
