Colorado Mesa University graphic design student Nicolas Pinto made an impressive showing at The Review, an annual portfolio review open to students enrolled in graphic design academic programs in Colorado. Pinto took first place in the advanced category for juniors, seniors and graduate students and won a $1,000 scholarship.
“Nicolas’ portfolio was extremely well done. It featured a letter pressed cover, French paper and graphic design work completed during his last two years at CMU," said Suzie Garner, CMU professor of graphic design and one of Pinto’s teachers. "We are very proud of the work he has done while in our program.”
The Review was held April 28 at the offices of Grenadier in Boulder. It was sponsored by the American Institute of Graphic Arts and The One Club, formerly the Art Directors Club of Denver. Graphic design professionals volunteered their time to review the students’ portfolios and nominated the best ones for honors.
