Interlibrary loan is all about borrowing and lending (sharing) articles, books, and other materials for you from other libraries throughout Colorado and the rest of the US.
Here's how it works:
You can request:
- articles and book chapters
- books
- dissertations and theses
- music CDs
- feature film or documentary DVDs
...and other materials, too!
The ILL Department works hard to fill all requests, when possible. Be aware that some material is difficult to obtain, such as genealogy material, reference items, and items held only internationally. It is also difficult to obtain full-text, English-language versions of articles published in foreign languages (e.g., Japanese).
Typical arrival time:
Articles and book chapters (scanned materials): Avg. 6-12 hours but may take up to 3 days
Books and other physical materials: 5 - 7 business days.
You can check the status of your request through Tipasa. You may also call 970.248.1844 or e-mail [email protected]
- Physical items (like books and DVDs) are delivered to the CMU Library Checkout & Reserves desk, or our Montrose or CMU Tech campuses.
- Articles can be retrieved from your desktop, tablet, or smart device as a PDF, through the email you receive noting your request has been fulfilled or through signing into your Tipasa account.
Absolutely! Just submit an ILL request using Tipasa. Your article will be conveniently delivered to your online ILL account as a PDF.
