If you are running into errors that won't let you register, here are a few things to check for:

Do you have any holds that might prevent registration?

Some common registration holds are the MMR hold, official high school transcript hold, and Social Security Number hold, just to name a few. For more information, read this article about how to view and take care of registration holds

Is time for you to register?

You are given a date that you can start registering for the upcoming semesters. It might not be your time to register yet. Your registration group is based on the number of credits you have completed – this doesn't include any JTerm, 1st mod, or current in progress classes. There must be a final grade in your DegreeWorks for the credits to count as completed.

Do you have a registration time ticket?

The registration time ticket is what tells you when you're allowed to register for classes. If you don't have a time ticket, it might mean you need to be readmitted to CMU. Contact IRIS for more information.
