If this is your first semester at CMU, make an appointment with your IRIS Advisor to discuss schedule changes. Your advisor can help you navigate the registration system, read your program sheet, and make sure your new classes will help you progress in your major. 

If you have registered yourself for classes at CMU before, you can use DegreeWorks, your program sheet, and the Schedule Builder to change your class schedule.

Tips:

  • Remember that DegreeWorks does not show how many general electives you will need to graduate but your program sheet does
  • Use the Suggested Course Plan tab of your program sheet in the Catalog to help determine in which order you should take classes. If your classes aren't lining up with the Suggested Course Plan, reach out to your faculty or IRIS advisor and ask them for course recommendations.
