Eligibility and requirements

To be eligible to apply for academic renewal at Colorado Mesa University, you must meet the following requirements:

Re-enroll at Colorado Mesa University following an absence of at least five (5) years

If academic renewal is approved, none of the course credits and grades earned at Colorado Mesa University prior to the five-year minimum absence will be used for meeting graduation requirements, or in determining your grade point average

Complete 24 academic course credits at Colorado Mesa University

Kinesiology courses and remedial courses below the 100 level do not count toward this total.

Achieve a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0

How to renew

You must submit an Academic Renewal form on the the Registrar’s Office website no later than the semester following the completion of these 24 semester credit hours.

Other institutions

Matriculation and/or course completion at other institutions during the five-year period of absence has no bearing on the application/petition.
