Melissa Taucher has worked in the early childhood field for more than 23 years. Her professional experience includes work as an ECSE, Child Find Coordinator, CPP Coordinator, classroom teacher, director and adjunct faculty in higher education. She currently works as a regional preschool specialist with the Colorado Department of Education.
Taucher's undergraduate degree is in Early Childhood Special Education from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and she received her master's degree from UC-Denver in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in ESL/bilingual education.
Taucher furthered her education and earned her K-12 principal licensure from the University of Northern Colorado in 2012. She is licensed by the State of Colorado to teach birth to age 8 early childhood education and early childhood special education, and K-12 linguistically diverse education. Taucher's passion is ensuring adults who work with young children are supported and understand the important role they have in building young childrens' brains through play and through strong, supportive and culturally responsive relationships.
