Alison Robb is the program director for the Wildland Fire Management program at CMU Tech. Before this instructional position, she had retired from 33 years of federal service. She worked throughout the western United States during that time with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), the US Forest Service (FS) and the National Park Service (NPS).
She continues to work in wildland fire incidents in the summer months and has 27 years of wildland fire experience, including being a team member of Type 1 and 2 incident management teams. Most of Robb's experience is in fire operations and aviation.
Robb believes that in wildland fire, most students learn from hands-on experiences, scenarios and table top exercises involving fire behavior, strategy and tactics. All of this program's courses follow the National Wildland Coordinating Group (NWCG) standards.
When not working, Robb and her family enjoy mountain biking, camping, winter sports and hiking.
