Born in San Antonio, Texas, and raised in Montrose since 1975, William Green graduated from Montrose High School in 1979 before attending TVI in Albuquerque. After completing his education, he worked at The Aerospace Corporation in California, where he specialized in high-powered lasers, satellite tracking systems, high-voltage power systems and various space shuttle programs.

In 1989, Green returned to Montrose to raise a family and became involved in CNC machining and manufacturing with local companies. After retiring from machining, he sought to share his expertise and found an opportunity to do so at Colorado Mesa University.

With a hands-on approach to teaching, Green believes machining and manufacturing are best learned through experience. He emphasizes the importance of encouraging students to take on new challenges and celebrates their accomplishments as they achieve their goals.
