About Me
I am a Billings, Montana native raised in a family of five. I am also a Mesa graduate and have lived in Grand Junction for the past 30 years. I have worked here at CMU for nearly 28 years in Athletics. In 1991, I came to the then Mesa State College as a transfer student looking for just the right fit to spend the next 3 years... or 30, of my college career. I transferred here to play softball and completed my Kinesiology degree in 1993. I then became the Head Softball Coach here in 1994 and coached 19 seasons until 2012. I have spent the past 9 years in Athletic Administration, most recently and for the past four years as Co-Director. I earned my Master of Arts degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Colorado Christian University in 1998.
I am very passionate about CMU and higher education and the experience our students have in their time here. With that, I am very excited and eager to be a part of our admissions team and recruit students back to CMU in working with our returning student population.
I also love to travel and have been fortunate to see the world coaching and teaching softball.... "Oh the places we will go!"
Favorite thing about Grand Junction
Besides the CMU campus and facilities? That's a hard one... there are so many things like weather — the sun shines over 300 days a year here. I love all the festivals and farmers' markets, and outdoor patio dining, the recreational activities from biking, skiing, rafting, hiking, climbing, hunting, fishing, camping — the list goes on. But I would have to say my favorite thing about Grand Junction is: the people. The people in this community and especially on our campus are mission-driven to make every student's experience second to none!
