Vibraphone soloist featured at CMU Jazz Festival Final Concert

CMU will wrap up its guest artist series during the annual Jazz Festival by featuring Tom Collier on vibraphone along with CMU Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Jonathan Hinkle and the Vocal Chords under the direction of Monte Atkinson. The concert will take place at 7:30pm on Monday, May 1 in the Moss Performing Arts Center Robinson Theatre.
The Jazz Ensemble will play with Collier on songs such as Live and Let Die by Paul McCartney, standards such as All of Me and Sing, Sing, Sing, which will also feature Vocal Chords, and Without a Paddle, a premiere performance of a composition by Hinkle. Collier will also perform solo.
Collier has appeared in concert and on recordings with many important jazz and popular artists and has released several jazz albums. In the classical arena, Collier has appeared as a guest soloist with the Seattle Symphony, the Denver Symphony, the Bellevue Philharmonic and many others. He has been Director of Percussion Studies at the University of Washington since 1980.

Tickets for the guest artist concert are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors, faculty/staff and $5 for students.
