Spring Into Dance

CMU's Dance Program will present its annual Spring Into Dance concert April 21 and 22 in the Robinson Theatre in the Moss Performing Arts Center.
The concert will feature work by two nationally renowned guest artists, both of whom traveled to CMU to teach and to conduct auditions and intensive rehearsals. Courtney D. Jones, one of Dance Magazine's 25 to Watch in 2012, has worked in contemporary dance, musical theatre and in higher education. She has performed at the Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall. She currently teaches at the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, TX. Ms. Jones has set a contemporary modern work on CMU dance majors.
Peter DiMuro was Artistic Director of Liz Lerman Dance Exchange from 2003 to 2008, capping a 15-year relationship as performer and lead artist with the company. His current creative umbrella is Public Displays of Motion, a company that develops and performs artistic works and cultivates dance/arts literacy, advocacy and engagement. DiMuro is interested in working with dancers of all ages and abilities and is working with dancers in the Grand Junction community as well as with CMU dance majors to set a new work for Spring Into Dance.
Selected CMU students Q McElroy, Katie Panega and Jenna Wadleigh as well as faculty Megan Glynn Zollinger, Meredith Lyons, Gabriele Cahill and Ann J. Sanders are also contributing new work for the concert.
Please be advised that strobe lighting will be used during this production of Spring Into Dance.
